At Wellnest Fertility, we know that deciding to pursue fertility treatment is not just an emotional and medical journey—it’s also a financial one. Many patients come to us feeling unsure about what their insurance will cover, how much they’ll need to pay out of pocket, or what financing options are available. If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed, you’re not alone. Here’s a breakdown of the financial side of fertility care and how our team supports you at every step.
Fertility insurance coverage is complicated, and no two health plans are exactly alike. Some plans cover only diagnostic testing, while others may cover limited treatment options—but exclude IVF. Many also have lifetime maximums (like a $20,000 cap), which can be used up quickly during treatment.
It’s also important to know that even if we’re “in-network,” certain services—like labs, anesthesia, or pharmacy—might be billed separately and considered out-of-network. This is why transparency is at the heart of how we work with patients.
At Wellnest, we do something called Verification of Insurance (VOI) twice in your journey so you always know what to expect:
The VOIs help ensure you have a pretty solid estimate in terms of how much of your treatment will be covered and how much will be patient responsibility.
Money conversations can feel intimidating, but at Wellnest, you’ll never have to figure it out alone. We have a financial counselor on staff and they will be your point of contact on understanding the estimate for treatment and providing you options on how you may pay for your treatment. As a patient, they offer up to two financial counseling sessions:
During these sessions, we’ll also discuss financing and discount opportunities, like:
No one likes unexpected charges. Here are a few ways you can be proactive along the way:
Before starting treatment, consider asking your insurance company:
At Wellnest, we believe your energy should go into your family-building journey—not into deciphering medical bills. From financial counseling to personalized payment paths, our team is here to give you clarity and confidence.
If you’re considering treatment and want to understand your financial options, scheduling a financial counseling session is the best next step. You can email billing@wellnestfertility.com or message us directly through your patient portal.
