Dr. Michael Heard is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist and obstetrician-gynecologist with more than 25 years of experience in fertility care, gynecology, and women’s health.

Dr. Heard brings his deep clinical expertise and compassionate approach to Wellnest, where he is committed to helping individuals and couples achieve their dream of parenthood. His career has spanned academic medicine, military service, and private practice, including leadership roles at The Heard Institute, Women’s Specialists of Houston, and Baylor College of Medicine.

A proud Air Force veteran, Dr. Heard trained at institutions including EmoryUniversity, the University of Tennessee, and Baylor College of Medicine. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed studies and served as a faculty educator for OB/GYN residents and fellows. He holds focused certification in Pediatric/Adolescent Gynecology and has presented and lectured nationally on topics ranging from premature ovarian insufficiency, ultrasound in early pregnancy, and male factor infertility.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Heard enjoys travel, elite sports such as Olympics and Professional Tennis, along with a close connection with the arts as a classically trained woodwind player along with involvement in musical and dramatic theater as an actor, sponsor, and volunteer.  He is also a cat lover and shares his home with his exotic shorthair named Bobby Joe.
